New Smyrna Beach Neighborhoods & Districts

NSB really has two hearts — beachside Flagler Avenue and historic Canal Street downtown — connected by the North Causeway over the Indian River. Knowing the districts is the fastest way to plan a great day.

The Two Hubs & Beyond
Flagler Avenue beachside district in New Smyrna Beach

Flagler Avenue (Beachside)

The walkable beachside main street that runs right to a beach approach. Flagler Avenue is the town's go-to for casual dining, surf shops, boutiques, bars and ice cream, plus the monthly Wine Walk and a string of food festivals. Park once and stroll — then walk straight onto the sand at the east end.

More Areas Worth Knowing

Riverside Drive & the Riverfront

The scenic mainland drive along the Indian River, lined with historic homes, the festival grounds for IMAGES, sunset views, and waterfront parks. Beautiful for a slow walk or bike ride.

The Inlet & North End

Where the Atlantic meets Ponce de Leon Inlet. Home to Smyrna Dunes Park, the jetty, the marina, and some of the best fishing and dolphin-watching in the area.

North Causeway

The connector between downtown and the beachside, with marinas, seafood spots and boat ramps along the water — a working, local stretch of NSB.

South Beachside & Bethune Beach

Quieter residential beachside south of the main drag, leading toward the traffic-free sand, Silver Sands and Bethune Beach near the national seashore.

Edgewater

NSB's southern neighbor along US-1 and the lagoon — more residential, with its own marinas, parks and lagoon access.

Oak Hill & Mosquito Lagoon

Small fishing community to the south, famous as a gateway to the Mosquito Lagoon's legendary redfish and trout flats.
